Important Announcement on Deferments It is
noticeable that there are students who are making
deferring module without following proper procedures.
Some of the reported negligence that have been brought
to our attention includes below:-
- That the forms are incomplete
- Supporting documents (evidences) are not
attached
- That the forms are not submitted as per the
given timelines
We also wish to bring to your attention that
deferments using below reasons will definitely not being
approve by the university.
- Oversleeping;
- Minor ailments such as coughs, colds;
- Financial problems;
- Holidays;
- House Move;
- Handing in problems;
- Traffic problems;
- Minor domestic problems;
- Personal computer problems, including failure to
back up work;
- Poor time management;
- Legal problems;
- Minor accidents or injuries;
- Misreading of the examination/assessment
timetable;
- Public transport delays (of less than one hour).
The university will only accept Extenuating
Circumstance being reason for deferment. Extenuating
Circumstance is a major circumstance which is either
Unforeseeable or Unpreventable and which prevents you
from completing an assessment.
Please note there are very high chances of these
forms getting rejected by the university and students
being marked as NS (non - submission). They will than
end up with getting their grades capped at D- once they
re-appear for these modules.
As such, students are required to pay attention to
the deferment procedures and it's requirements.
