Library Borrowing Rules

 

PURPOSE

Information about loan periods, renewals, and overdue penalties.
 
 

To borrow material from the OCJB Library, a valid Library Borrower Account and

adherence to the Library's Borrowing Rules is required.

 
Borrowing Rules
  • Borrower accounts are non-transferable.
  • Borrowers agree to comply with all Library regulations and pay all fines and bills.
 
Loan Periods and Return of Materials
Books
  • Part Time Students: 2 books - 1 week
  • Full Time Students: 2 books - 3 days
  • Part Time & Full Time Lecturers: 3 books - 1 semester
 
 
Return of Materials
  • Borrowed items are due before closing time on the date due.
  • Return items to the circulation desk.
  • The Library is not responsible for items improperly returned.
 
Renewals
Request renewals:
  • in person at a Circulation Desk.
  • or by telephone, (07) 223 3868.
  • Renew items on the due date or from 1 days before the due date.
Non-renewable items:
  • Items which have been requested by another borrower.
 
Recalls
  • Materials are subject to recall one week after the check-out date.

  • Material needed for course reserves may be recalled immediately.

  • If recalled materials are not returned promptly borrowing privileges will be suspended.

 
Overdue Materials
  • Borrowing privileges will be suspended if items become overdue. Fines are imposed on overdue item at RM0.50 per day per item.

    ***Should an item become overdue in excess of 30 days, a bill for its replacement will be issued. Students who have lost or damaged library materials or who have failed to return borrowed item/ items will be requested to pay a replacement fee of double the item’s cost. While, the staff members will be bonded by a separate contract.***

  • Reinstatement of privileges will be contingent upon return of these materials and/or payment of these charges.
